Count birds: Volunteers able to identify birds in the Sky Islands by sight and sound are needed to conduct point counts along trail transects in the Chiricahua Mountains.

Be a hiking safety partner: It is desirable to have at least 2 individuals walk the bird count transects for safety reasons. Volunteers who are not confident they can identify the local birds can help by accompanying bird counters on transects.

Organize data: Volunteers are needed to help temporarily store field data forms and organize data.

Coordinate bird counters/equipment: Volunteers are needed to help coordinate scheduling other volunteers for bird counts and store and manage associated field equipment when it is not in use.
